Attending the 16th COTA International Conference of Transportation Professionals

The 16th COTA International Conference of Transportation Professionals (CICTP2016) was held during July 6-9, 2016, in Shanghai, China, jointly organized by Shanghai Maritime University (SMU) and Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (COTA).

CICTP2016 attracted more than 700 participants domestically and internationally, who came from mainland China, the United States of America, United Arab Emirates, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Greece, Singapore, Australia, United Kingdom, Germany, Korea, Belgium, Switzerland and New Zealand. Nearly thirty conference sessions such as plenary, spotlight, honored invited, and technical sessions, as well as special forums were organized.

Dr. Carlos Daganzo, member of the U.S. National Academy of Engineering (NAE), professor at the University of California Berkeley, gave a wonderful speech on “A New Method to Reduce Urban Congestion” in the plenary session of CICTP2016. He is one of the world’s most well-known transportation scientists, and I was honored to have the chance to listen to the lecture. oral oral2
